I actually didn’t enjoy it that much. The story is told through a mixed of third-person and stream of consciousness narration.
The Jilting of Granny Weatherall is a character sketch of an otherwise ordinary woman who has weathered a deep and abiding blow to her psyche.
If anything, Granny appears to be in denial.

At some point, it seems that the main objective was forgotten; the craft of writing and capturing reader’s attention through simple yet captivating ideas, the essence of conveying emotions and wisdom and lessons and views, rather than convoluted styles that were hard to unearth. Jun 19, Shirlee rated it liked it. And when Granny remembers the fateful day of her jilting, kaherine is overcome by images of dark smoke and hellfire. A dying lady is being taken care of by her children. As she senses her time running out, she thinks of all the things she wants to tell her children, who have ktherine to say their goodbyes.
