While an amazing work of alternate history, this book can get boring at times when the characters are induced into long conversations about battle tactics or politics which can bore any young reader such as myself who does not understand anything like this.
The book includes historical characters whose backstory is entirely believable; such as Colonel George Custer who was killed at the Batt “How Few Remain” is an alternate history book which goes over how the South may have won the Civil War and become their own independent nation.

I found myself wishing that I could also read that tale, foolishly unaware that i I’m afraid I read this one out of order.
